06 Apr Explaining Coronavirus to your Children
Ah! The awkward question is asked.
“What is coronavirus?”
Then the avalanche…
“Why can’t I see my friends?”
“Why are we stuck at home?”
“Why haven’t we seen granny for a few weeks?”
If you’ve got 7 year olds and under explaining Coronavirus to your children can be difficult. You don’t want them to be ill-informed but by the same token you don’t want them to be gripped by fear, which could lead to anxiety.
Having not lived through anything like this before, parents will naturally be apprehensive about either giving too much or too little information – but actually most concerned with it being correct.
At Freedom Childcare, we think this resource, created by Manuela Molina best helps to explain Coronavirus and actually helps some adults as well. Click here.
