Supervised and Supported Contacts
Freedom Childcare is an award winning company that prides itself on providing a professional yet personal service. We are established in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Dorset and Surrey.
We have been providing supervised contact sessions for private cases and for local authority’s since 2004.
All staff that work for Freedom are recruited and vetted as follows:
- Thorough interview
- Investigation into gaps in employment
- DBS Enhanced Disclosure
- Medical Declaration, signed by their GP.
- Verified proof of any qualifications
- Two verified professional written references
All Freedom staff then attend an induction, covering company policies procedures and service delivery. They are issued with our company uniform, company handbook and photographic identification.
All staff working for Freedom are bound by our policies and procedures.
Health & Safety – Medication – Outings – Behavior – Child Protection Confidentiality – Personal Hygiene – Professional boundaries – Timekeeping Availability & Sickness/ Absence – Risk assessment – Safeguarding – Report writing (These are an examples of our main policies.)
Training and Supervision
All staff are trained by us in the provision of facilitating contact sessions, which includes a period of time working alongside an experienced member of staff. As part of our quality assurance staff are visited whilst working regularly to ensure they are following all company instructions and assessed for ongoing training and support.
All families are different and no two families will have the same requirements. We will take into consideration all the relevant information and devise contact sessions that are suitable for all involved. These sessions can adapt and evolve over time as the family’s needs change.
Our staff are insured to carry children in their cars and can therefore collect children and drop them off if this is required. Dependent on the number of children and their behavior we may require more than one worker to ensure the children’s safety whilst being transported. We can provide car seats for all ages of children.
Supported hand overs can also be provided using the transport service.
Administration process for new cases
Case information – Booking form – Risk assessment – Contract of expectations
We have worked with Local authorities for the past since 2004 and understand the need to dovetail our paperwork and procedure with your own. We will make every effort to discuss your needs with you and ensure we accommodate your needs and requirements. Where you can provide paperwork in a different format to our own we are happy to accept this to avoid duplication where possible and ensure we have the information we require.

Observational Report Writing
In most cases it is important to have a report on how the interaction was with the parent and child was perceived. This is non-judgmental and based solely on what was seen and heard.
How frequent the reports are completed is entirely at your discretion, reports can be completed every session, every other session, once a month etc. Summary reports can also be provided for court etc.
If required a member of staff can also collect the child/ren, take them to the session and return them home again after the session. If the travel time and contact session exceeds the 3 hour minimum additional charged will apply.
