Our Staff are all experienced/qualified, references checked, DBS checked & first aid trained.
Payment for bookings are taken once we have confirmed a member of staff is booked for you.
All major credit and debit cards are accepted with the exception of (American Express)
All payments are to be paid direct to Freedom IOW Ltd. staff are not authorised to accept Freedom monies.
Changes to your original booking:
Any changes to the original booking must be passed on to Freedom Childcare as soon as possible. We require ALL relevant information of ALL children in our care prior to the original babysit date. This is vital so our staff can prepare themselves with activities etc. Children who have been added at the last minute without prior notice may incur a £10.00 administration charge and may not be able to be cared for if it exceeds our 1:3 ratio for children over 1 year old (children under the age of 1 must have a 1:2 staff ratio.)
Freedom work on a ratio of 1:3 adults to children, this is a guideline but can only be changed by agreements with our Offices. All children should be in the same room and we require full details of all families involved—this might require more than one booking form being completed for a single booking.
We cannot use baby listeners or other listening devices, similarly – Freedom staff cannot sit in corridors and watch two rooms. Freedom staff need to be able to see and check on the children in their care to ensure they are safe.
A cancellation policy applies once a member of staff has been confirmed for a booking. Any alterations of hours which result in a reduction will not be reimbursed if communicated less than 24hours before the time of the original booking. Cancellation charges apply per member of staff per date as follows:
- Any bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the booked date will be charged at the amount of hours originally booked.
- Any bookings cancelled within 3 working days of the booked date will be charged at a 3 hour booking fee
- Bookings cancelled outside of 3 days will be charged at £10 (+vat).
Where possible, and subject to availability, we would source staff based locally to you. However, where this is not possible; due to time restraints or availability we may source staff from further a field: additional charges will be required to cover the staff member’s time and / or the staff members mileage: Time would be charged to the nearest quarter of an hour at same hourly rate as booking. Mileage would be charged at 55p per mile for mileage to & from the booking. Additional charges will be confirmed in advance of the booking.
Any extra costs incurred for your children, whilst in our care will be passed on at cost +10% admin fee. This may include items such as food, refreshments, taxis or any other items necessary for the care of your children.
The staff member will bring a time sheet with them, this must be signed prior to leaving the children in her care. Any information appertaining to the children or specific instructions should be also detailed on this form to avoid any confusion.
When you return the sheet should be sign for the hours that have been used. The staff member is responsible for returning the time sheet to the office.
A next of kin / emergency contact is requested – this person should be close to the family member and be able to make decisions regarding your child(ren) in the event that you cannot.
Should a situation arise that results in the delay in you returning to your children, please contact the Childcarer or Freedom at the 1st available opportunity.
Our staff are instructed that if they have not heard form you within in 30mins of the booked finished time, they will then contact the next of kin / emergency contact listed. If they cannot reach your next of kin / emergency contact and the carer has still not heard from them or you after 1hour, the police will be informed.
In the event of an emergency arising with your children whilst in our care, although every effort will be made to contact you in the 1st instance and also the emergency services if needed – contact will be made to the next of kin / emergency contact listed after 15mins.
Our office is open Monday-Friday 9.00am –5.00pm. We have an out of hour’s service; the numbers for this are changed weekly on the answer machine.
